What Tablets Are Used To Treat Erectile Dysfunction?
- The most popular tablet is Viagra. Other popular brands that are used to treat it are Levitra and Cialis. If you are looking for the generic drug for Viagra it is called Sildenafil and is considerably cheaper than Viagra is.
- These tablets will work in 65-70% of cases when the dysfunction is mild to moderate in severity. In the case where the tablets doesn’t work, injections into the penis or surgery for specific conditions will be explored. Caverject is the injection that is commonly used in the 30% of cases that don’t respond to tablets. It works for 80% of men. Erections usually occur 10-15 minutes after injection. If you require this treatment option you will require 2 separate visits to the GP.
What Causes Erectile Dysfunction?
Low Testosterone can be a cause. However, it should be noted that it is not a common cause. The correlation between low testosterone and erectile problems is not well established in the scientific literature.
